Fanart of Shirahama Kyouji and Miyano Yoshikazu from Sasaki and Miyano, in their third year of high school. Most of the piece is completely dark, with a paper lantern in the middle acting as the sole light source. Shirahama is crouched down, cradling the lantern and looking up at Miyano with a gentle expression; most of Miyano's face is obscured, but he's smiling politely and taking it from Shirahama.

Just the lines The lineart for the above painting, with the colours removed so it's less busy & easier to see the details.

I drew this for Shirahama's birthday in 2025 (November 9th). It was also the first day of Rarepair Week, so even though I didn't submit this for the event, I still wanted to do something shiramiya-flavoured. Even if it's unrequited...

This artwork started life as me trying to write about shiramiya lantern symbolism, failing, and trying to express those same sentiments through visual art. I referenced pictures of me holding a soup bowl for Shirahama's hands.
